Plotwright Privacy Policy

Effective October 28, 2026

Plotwright is made by Sapphire Dog owned and operated by Benton Armstrong Vizzier Jr (“we”). In short: your writing is yours. We don’t collect it, see it, sell it or use it to train AI. Plotwright has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Your writing

Your libraries (your books, notes, characters, pictures and everything else you put in Plotwright) are stored where you choose: on your device, in your iCloud Drive, or on a Mac in another folder such as Dropbox or OneDrive. They never pass through our servers. iCloud Drive and other storage services are run by their providers under their own privacy policies.

What Plotwright sends, and when

Plotwright only goes online when you ask it to:

  • Template Gallery. When you open the Template Gallery, Plotwright downloads the list of shared template sets from GitHub, where it is hosted. Like any website, GitHub receives your device’s internet address with the request. Nothing from your library is sent.
  • Send Feedback. Send Feedback opens an email in your own email app, addressed to us, with your app version, device model and system version filled in. You can add screenshots and crash or hang reports, which Plotwright keeps on your device for 14 days for this purpose. Nothing is sent until you press Send, and you can see and change everything first.
  • Sharing a template set. Offering a template set to the Template Gallery opens an email in your email app with the template file and the name, author and note you enter. Nothing is sent until you press Send.
  • Search the Web. Look Up’s Search the Web opens your web browser to search for the word you chose.

Information you send us

When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include. We use it only to reply, fix problems and improve Plotwright, and keep it only as long as that takes. If you share a template set, we may publish it in the Template Gallery under the author name you gave. We never sell or share your information with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Information Apple provides

Apple may share crash reports and app usage statistics with us if you’ve chosen to share them with app developers in your device’s settings, and TestFlight passes on feedback and crash reports you send through it. This information doesn’t identify you, and Apple’s privacy policy covers how Apple collects it.

Children

Plotwright is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

You can delete your libraries at any time; they’re your files. To see, correct or delete anything you’ve emailed us, write to us and we’ll do it.

Changes

If Plotwright ever collects anything more, such as anonymous counts of which features are used, it will be off unless you turn it on, and we’ll update this policy first. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
